Wydell Davis Childs

Mrs. Wydell Davis Childs, 87 died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at her granddaughter’s home in Lebanon, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 22nd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Junior Davis and Rev. Johnny Collins officiating. Visitation will be from Tuesday from 12:00 noon until service time at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Wydell was born December 23, 1927, in Winston County, MS. She was a 1946 graduate of Louisville High School. Wydell was a faithful employee and bookkeeper for Bennett’s Building Supply for 51 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Childs; her son, Butch Whitt; a brother, Mitchell Davis; and her parents, Inez Mitchell and Junie E. Davis.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Emily Aull of Lebanon, TN; a brother, Orris (Marie) Davis of Louisville, MS; and a sister-in-law, Lois Jean Clark Davis of Pensacola, FL; and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jack Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, Johnny Mitchell, Jimmy Boswell, Jeff Hill, Barry Partridge, and Marshall Cornelius.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
