Mrs. Young was born March 17, 1933, to William Robert and Annie Todd Haney. She was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church and she was a housewife.
Vermell is survived by two daughters, Jenny Ireland and husband, Don, of Wetumpka, Alabama; and Patsy Freeman of Louisville; two sisters, Yvonne Augsburger and husband, David, of Ada Ohio; and Grace Turner of Butler, Alabama; and two brothers, Lawrence Haney and wife, Diane, of Mobile, Alabama; and Robert Haney and wife, Judy, of Shaw, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her six grandchildren: Scharlene Alfonso and husband, Manny; Heather Tarnosky and husband, Adam; Marty Caudill and wife, Bryneth; Rachel Fisher and husband, Jason; Noell Maycock and husband, Matthew; and Kevin Ireland and fiancée, Beth Stough. She also has 12 great-grandchildren: Jonathon Carr and wife, Amanda; Brittney Clark; Luke and Lauren Tarnosky; Emily Pearson; Cali and Ryleigh Maycock; Ella, Lincoln, Alexis, Peyton, and Cailyn Fisher. Mrs. Young also leaves behind to mourn her passing a special friend, Sid Shaw, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J. W. Williams and V. B. Young; her parents, and three sisters, Lillie Ruth Haney; Laurine Casnettie; and Gloria Raleigh; and two brothers, William and Gene Haney.
