Emma Dean Catledge

 

On May 2, 2012, at Brandon Court, Mrs. Emma Dean Catledge (Paey), went home to be with the Lord. Born May 4, 1925, in Louisville, MS, to Sammy & Lena White, she is survived by three daughters, Dianne (Dan) Schmitz of Brandon, MS; Susan Younger of Brandon; and Jill (Ronnie) Johns of Louisville; three grandchildren, Nichole (Brad) McKenzie of Starkville, Paul (Lauren) Younger of Madison, and Lauren Fulton of Columbus, MS; two great grandchildren, Luke & Landon McKenzie; and a sister, Willie Faye Dawkins of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Catledge and Jeff Peay; a brother, Billy White, and a sister, Sue Haimes. As a former employee of the Winston County Schools, she served as a cafeteria worker and a bus driver. She loved the children she worked with and enjoyed seeing them in the years following her retirement. She was longtime member of West Union Presbyterian Church and enjoyed many years of fellowshipping with her church family. Her greatest passion in life was loving people and serving them.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5th, at Porter Funeral Home , with Rev. Boley Kent officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Catledge was a loving mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend, who enjoyed cooking and doing things for her family and others. She was avid gardener who will surely enjoy planting and tending beautiful flowers in Heaven. She also enjoyed quilting, crafts, sewing, and any creative hand projects.
Pallbearers will be Tony Jordan, Mark Cravens, Dunlap Catledge, Patrick Tomlinson, Brad McKenzie, and Paul Younger.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
