Mrs. Edna Hatcher, 84, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Walter Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Whitehead Cemetery.
Mrs. Hatcher was born September 10, 1927, to the late Ben Ervin and Beatrice Ford Kent. She was a homemaker, and a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church of Louisville.
Mrs. Hatcher is survived by her children, Pat Blanton and husband, Gene; Teresa Ming, and Dwayne Hatcher and wife, Christine, all of Louisville, Mississippi. She is also survived by four sisters, Mary Drago and husband, Fred, of Mobile, Alabama; Dot Stokes of Louisville, Mississippi; Ondia Tillman of Mobile, Alabama; and Annette Ivy and husband, Charles, of Sturgis, Mississippi. She is also survived by three brothers, Harold Kent and wife, Mattie, of Columbus, Mississippi; William Kent and wife, Margaret, of Ackerman, Mississippi; and Charles Kent and wife, Jamie, of Mobile, Alabama. Mrs. Hatcher also has seven grandchildren: Marty Ming and wife, Heather; Laura Renick and husband, Matt; Lance Blanton and wife, Crystal; Eddie Hatcher and wife, Kim; David Hatcher; Joseph Hatcher; and Rainey Hatcher. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mardis Delynn Hatcher; four brothers and one sister.
Pallbearers will be Marty Ming, Lance Blanton, Danny Hatcher, David Hatcher, and Matt Renick.
