Myrtle Bond Irving, age 95, passed peacefully from this life on June 6, 2016 at Oktibbeha County Hospital.
A final memorial celebration service of her long and fruitful life will be held at Ackerman Baptist Church on June 9, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at the Weir Cemetery immediately following the ceremony. Visitation for those who loved Mrs. Irving and love her family will be held at 10:00 am on June 9th one hour prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Ackerman Baptist Church.
Mrs. Irving was born on December 30, 1920 in Weir, Mississippi to the parents of Robert Arthur Bond and Eva Rabun Bond. Mrs. Irving was a lifetime devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Choctaw County School System.
Until the later years of her life, Mrs. Irving was a faithful member of the Weir United Methodist Church. There she loved playing the piano, which she learned to play by ear.
Her family was the joy of her life and much of her time was devoted to family. Many mornings she enjoyed having breakfast on her porch with her children.
Mrs. Irving was preceded in death by her husband Davis Irving, sisters Sue Huffman, Carolyn Valentine, Dot Weeks, and brothers Derwin Bond, Gerald Bond, and GradyBond.
Mrs. Irving is survived by one son, James D. Irving, of Weir, Ms., daughters Judy Melton of Weir and Joani Webster of Harrah, Oklahoma. She is also survived by one brother, Glen Bond of Taylorsville, Ms. Grandchildren included Ryan Irving of Madison, Ms., Lindsey Melton Maxey of Nashville, Tn., Drew Webster of Harrah Ok., Candace Stephenson and Chris Stephenson. Great grandchildren include Nelson Irvingand Shephard Irving of Madison, Ms.
Pallbearers will be Kenny King, David McCulloch, David Smith, Perry King, Frank Black and Terry Collier.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Irving's name to French Camp Academy or Ackerman Baptist Church Building Fund.
