Bill Coburn, 86, of Louisville, MS., passed on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Louisville Health Care Center, Louisville, MS.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 12 until 5 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Beck Funeral Home of Louisville in charge of arrangements.

Bill was born to the parents of Will Coburn and Ophelia Patty on July 7, 1937 in Winston County Mississippi. Bill is survived by his Siblings, Pearlie M. Coburn and Harvey Coburn both of Louisville, MS.

Lee Earl Hopkins

Lee Earl Hopkins, 74, of Louisville, MS., passed on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Saint Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 11 a.m., from Beck Funeral Home. Lee Earl Hopkins was born to the parents of Harvey Lee Hopkins and Patty Jean White in Winston County Mississippi on May 30, 1950.

Ray L. Nance

Ray Lamar Nance, 86, went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. A celebration of life service will be held at Massey Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 4:00 pm with Bro. Rob Faulk and Bro. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 3:00 pm, and a private burial will be held at Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Ray was born on May 13, 1938, to Richard Henry and Lona Mayo Nance of Winston County. He married the love of his life, Carol Anne Hill, on July 3, 1959, and they were blessed with two children, Alicia Carol Nance and William Patrick Nance. Ray served his community and country as a law enforcement officer and active-duty member of the Mississippi National Guard for 43 years, and he was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Deanco Auction Company, and the simple things in life such as spending time with his family, watching Mississippi State sports, and drinking coffee with his best friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his son, William Patrick Nance; his parents, Richard Henry and Lona Mayo Nance; his siblings, Richard Bryce “R. B.” Nance, Bettye Ruth Schoolar, Clarence Estes Nance, Carrie Maxine Reynolds, and Edith Ann Triplett; and his mother-in-law, Agnes Butler Ruff. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Carol Anne Nance; his daughter, Alicia (Terry) Deas; his siblings, Joe Denton Nance and Dianne Nance Mayo; and his nieces and nephews. One of Ray’s greatest joys was being “Pop” to his grandchildren, Dr. Aimee Brown and Brian (Falan) Chandler, and his great-grandchildren, Baleigh Grace Brown and Rekker Reese Richardson.

The Nance family would like to thank Dr. Dustin Gentry and the staff of Winston Medical Center and Winston County Nursing Home for the care and compassion they provided Ray the past year. Donald Wade “Pete” Thomas

Donald Wade “Pete” Thomas, of Sturgis, MS, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at his residence in Sturgis, MS. Pete was born on January 12, 1927 in Oktibbeha County, MS to Willard Barron Thomas, Sr. and Essie Mae (Pentecost) Thomas. He was 97 years old. Pete was a U.S. Army Veteran of the 101st Airborne Division. He was also a construction worker, and a member of Sturgis Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, MS.

Graveside services were held at Sturgis Cemetery in Sturgis, MS on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Burial followed at Sturgis Cemetery in Sturgis, MS. Visitation was held prior to service time from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS.

Pete is survived by his daughter, Alice (Leon) Stribling of Sturgis, MS. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Barron Thomas, Sr. and Essie Mae (Pentecost) Thomas, his wife, Elsie Evelyn (Tooles) Thomas, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.

Wyatt Timothy Woods, 68, of Louisville, Mississippi, passed on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Baptist Medical Center, Columbus, MS. Bernard "Bo" VanLandingham

Blanton Bernard “Bo” VanLandingham, 79, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at his home in Louisville, Mississippi, with his loving family at his side. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Louisville with Reverend Jay Murphy and Reverend Wayne Stockstill officiating. There will also be a visitation on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Shiloh Cemetery.

Bernard was born July 27, 1944, to Samuel Blanton and Maudie Opal Mayo VanLandingham. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. As a result of growing up in the Delta, Bernard loved the outdoors. He enjoyed cutting grass, gardening, and working with a shovel. Bernard also enjoyed tinkering in his shop; he could fix anything…ranging from a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner to a vehicle. He was also a talented carpenter building various structures around the house. The main focus of his life was his church, home, and family; especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly and enjoyed following them in their various school activities as long as he was able to do so. His family and others looked to him for advice as he was wise, fair and honest.

Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Brenda Mitchell VanLandingham; and their children: Barry (Stacie) VanLandingham, Chris (Christi) VanLandingham, and Christal (Neil) Gregory, all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “PeePaw” to his seven grandchildren: Sophie VanLandingham, Blaine VanLandingham, Nash VanLandingham, Ethan VanLandingham, Taylor Gregory, Laney Gregory, and Allye Kate Gregory. He is also survived by his sisters, Vernece Bruce, Joyce Griffin, and Brenda (Steve) Bailey; and his brother, Ronnie (Ethel) VanLandingham; as well as loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Perlene V. Tharp and Ruth V. Whitt.

Serving as pallbearers are Nash VanLandingham, Ethan VanLandingham, Blaine VanLandingham, Lester Griffin, Josh Mitchell, and Van Tharp. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony VanLandingham, Justin VanLandingham, Brian Rone, Zack Rone, and the men of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Elmer K. Jackson Sr.

Elmer K. Jackson (Sr). was born to John Elmer Jackson and Olamae Jackson on April 6, 1956 in Louisville MS. He was a graduate of Louisville High School. He loved hunting and hanging with friends. He also loved his children and family. 

He is survived by his children, Olamae Jackson of Louisville MS, Zonia E Jackson Hutto of Humble, Texas, Kasey Jackson Jr. of Louisville MS, his grandchildren Richard Bailey Hutto, Dallas Texas; Jace Hutto and Sonya E Hutto, both of Humble,Texas and several other relatives. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.  He passed away on June 9, 2024. He was a resident of Phoenix, Arizona where he lived with family, Tricia Ann Kirk and David Kirk Jr.

Elizabeth Colene Jackson

Elizabeth Colene Jackson of Starkville, MS, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her residence in Starkville, MS. Elizabeth was born on December 22, 1946, in Starkville, MS to William Brelan Jackson and Elizabeth (Daniels) Tillson. She was 77 years old. Elizabeth worked as a LabTech until she could no longer work.

A Celebration of Life for Elizabeth will be held at Antioch Baptist Church in Winston County near Louisville, MS on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at Antioch Baptist Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth DeAnn Barksdale, and her three sons, Samuel Brelan Gitchell, James Travis Gitchell, and George Ronald Gitchell; her step-mother (affectionately known as “Aunt Mommy”), Marilyn Jackson; her two sisters, Susan Jackson Santucci and Cathy Dawn Duckworth; and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren.

Clifford Edwin Sutton Sr

Clifford “Cliff” Edwin Sutton, Sr., 74, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Clifford was born March 12, 1950, to Charles and Margaret Selby Sutton. He enjoyed working on a dairy farm. Cliff loved his family dearly and relished the time he spent with them.

Cliff is survived by his wife, Rhonda Sutton of Louisville, Mississippi; daughter, Ruth Dempsey of Ackerman, Mississippi; and sons: Cliff Sutton, Jr., of Florida, Craig Sutton (Sissy Pumphrey) of Columbus, Mississippi, and Chad Sutton (Christy Bryan) also of Louisville, Mississippi. He is also survived by three sisters: Mary Gillespie of Missouri, Sara Remington also of Missouri, and Florence Burnham of Georgia; and three brothers: Jim Sutton (Ida), Claude Sutton, and Joe Sutton all of Missouri; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Buster and Bobby Sutton.

June Hudspeth Frazier

Martha June Hudspeth Frazier went to be with Jesus on Monday, June 3, 2024. She was just short of her 87th birthday. Graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Webster Cemetery in Winston County.

She was born in Louisville, Mississippi, on June 15, 1937. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lamar Gene Frazier, on April 17, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents Jesse Hudspeth and Wabie Black Hudspeth and a brother, Mickey Hudspeth. She is survived by her siblings, Doug Hudspeth (Diann), Gayle Coffman (Rick) and Randy Hudspeth (Carol). She is survived by her daughter, Gay Frazier Aman (Philip), and her son, Lamar Gene “Skip” Frazier, Jr. (Cathy). She is survived by six grandchildren: Bradie Chambers, Bradley Aman (Evelyn), Vicky Ingram, Joseph Frazier, Jesse Frazier (Amber), and Kayla Frazier; and five great-grandchildren, Sterling Chambers, Steele Chambers, Rhett Aman, Salem Aman and Aubrey Frazier.

Everyone knew Martha June as June. She was a homemaker while her children were at home and later worked as a USDA Food Safety inspector at Bryan Foods in West Point, Mississippi. She also became a caregiver to the elderly. She was a very loving person to everyone including her love for all types of animals and always loved feeding and caring for her pets and the wild birds around her home. She was a great cook and her master dish was fried chicken–there was none better. Most of all, she was a lover of Jesus and read her scriptures and devotions every day. She also was a prayer warrior for her family and any in need. Her desire of the Lord was to die at her own home and in the month of June, her birth month. The Lord was merciful in granting her request. June is now in the arms of Jesus and is reunited with her husband and others who were redeemed.

Serving as pallbearers are Bradley Aman, Jesse Frazier, Joseph Frazier, Rick Coffman, Steele Chambers, and David Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Webster Cemetery Fund, 368 Bluff Lake Road, Louisville, MS 39339 or to the charity of your choice.

Barbara Nelson

Barbara Ruth Black Nelson, formerly of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Choctaw Residential Center in Choctaw, MS where she resided. Barbara was born on April 26, 1951 in Choctaw County,MS to Thomas Ethrage and Ruthie Juanita (Stephens) Black. She was 73 years old. Barbara had a career in clerical work. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Nebo Methodist Church near Ackerman, MS on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held prior to service time starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery near Ackerman, MS.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Beth Moore of Walnut Grove, MS; her son in law, Paul Moore of Carthage, MS; 3grandchildren, Kevin Moore of Carthage, MS, Colby Moore (Hanna) of Lena, MS, and Makenzie Moore of Starkville, MS; and three brothers, Johnny Black of Ackerman, MS, William (Sandy) Black of Mathiston, MS, and Paul (Brenda) Black of Cedartown, GA. She is also survived by her niece, Beverly Cook of Murfreesboro, TN, and her nephew, Jamie Black of Ackerman, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ethrage and Ruthie Juanita (Stephens) Black; one brother, Boyd Black; and a nephew, Kevin Black.

Joseph Niles “Joe Rob” Robinson

Joseph Niles “Joe Rob” Robinson of Ackerman, MS, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, MS. Joe Rob was born on April25, 1948, in French Camp, MS, to William Edwin Robinson, Sr. and Margie (Thornton) Robinson. He was 76years old. Joe Rob was a member of French Camp Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at French Camp Cemetery in French Camp, MS on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

Joe Rob is survived by his cousins, Peggy Robinson Buras and Jane Robinson Buras of Jackson, MS, Bettye White Robinson of Iuka, MS, Robert Lewis Robinson II, Bo Robinson, and Olivia Robinson of Leipers Fork, TN, and Elizabeth Robinson of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edwin Robinson, Sr. and Margie (Thornton) Robinson, and a brother, William Edwin Robinson, Jr.

Charlotte Marynell McAdory

Ms. Charlotte Marynell McAdory, 47, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 6th, at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charlotte was born September 12, 1976, in Louisville, MS. She was a graduate of Louisville High School, and East Central Community College in Cosmetology. She worked for many years in the accounting department at Wal-Mart. She was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, James E. “Bozo” McAdory, Sr. and Peggy Taggart McAdory; her brother, James E. “Eddie” McAdory, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Junior Cockrell.
She is survived by a sister, Kathy Cockrell of Louisville; a nephew, Jamie (Jennie) McAdory; and great niece and nephews, Alex, Jade, and J. D. McAdory; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Jamie McAdory, Derrick Hobson, Scott Doster, Ronnie Taylor, James Higginbotham, and Jeramy Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Hobson and Clarke Gregory.

Antonio Hoskins

Mr. Antonio Hoskins, 33, was born in Starkville, MS, to Mr. Jimmy Edmond and Mrs. Bernice Hoskins. He resided in Louisville, MS, and passed on Friday, May 24, 2024. Visitation will be on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Taylor’s Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery. William “Billy” Gerald Bethany

William “Billy” Gerald Bethany, age 87, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi, with his loving family at his side. Visitation will be Monday, June 3, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Tuesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until service time. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 4 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Mayo and Reverend Larry Mizell officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Billy was born October 12, 1936, to Alton and Mildred Smith Bethany in Brooksville, Mississippi. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church but most recently he attended Murphy Creek Baptist Church with his family. For 38 years, he was a distributor for Pet Dairy and Brookshire’s in three different counties. Billy enjoyed his long-time membership in the Louisville Country Club. He was an avid golfer and told his family to never make plans for him on Tuesdays and Thursdays because those were his golfing days! Billy also enjoyed hunting and fishing as long as his health allowed him to participate. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army National Guard.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Brigitte Sheridan and husband, Ken, of Louisville; and his sister, Evelyn Brumfield and husband, Jewell, of Bogalusa, Louisiana. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews: Bruce (Michelle) Brumfield, Brian Brumfield, John (Angel) Eaves, Jr., Paige Eaves (Morgan) Ray, and Tiffany Eaves (Sam) Schlesinger; in addition to great-nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends. Billy leaves behind his lifelong friend whom he felt as close to as a brother, Bud Brown; and his special caregiver, Jane Pearson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Cynthia Lovorn Bethany; his parents; and his in-laws, O. T. and Bonnie Kate Lovorn, and Patricia and John Eaves.

Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Brumfield, Brian Brumfield, John Eaves, Jr., Ross Easley, Jimmy Marlowe, Clinton Mills and John Wright. Michael Wayne Todd

Michael Wayne Todd, 77, passed away Sunday, May 26th, 2024 at his home in Louisville, MS. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. He had a strong love of music, golf and family. He trusted in his Lord and Savior.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Marie Todd; sister, Judy Posey; infant sister, Janice Kay Todd; son, Robbie Todd.

Robert L. Raley, Jr.

Robert L. Raley, Jr., of Louisville, MS, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Turning Point-Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Robert was born on October 27, 1955, in DeQueen, Arkansas, to Robert L. Raley, Sr. and Marla Kathleen Campbell. He was 68 years old. Robert was a retired Industrial/Electrical Engineer.

A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert is survived by 2 daughters, Amanda (Joey) Vowell of Ackerman, MS, and Kim Hemphill of Noxapater, MS; 1 sister, Sandy Walkington of Dallas, TX; 2 brothers, Eric Raley of Dallas, TX, and Mark Raley of Wyoming; and 4 grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 grandson, Remy Vowell.

Charles Garrigues "Chuck" Clark, Jr,

Mr. Charles Garrigues "Chuck" Clark, Jr, 58, passed away at the Memory Care Facility of the Winston County Nursing Home on Friday, May 31, 2024. 

Chuck was born July 3, 1965, in Houston, Texas.  He attended and graduated Louisville High School in 1983 and Mississippi State University receiving a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987. Chuck was a gifted technician, he could disassemble, repair and rebuild absolutely anything with a motor or computer, including vintage muscle cars, particularly Pontiac Firebirds and Ford Mustangs. He continued to purse his passion for all things electrical and mechanical by obtaining both his private and commercial pilot’s licenses. He was employed as a corporate pilot for both Garan, Inc. and Yates Construction Company.   

Chuck was a valued member of First Methodist Church often volunteering to operate their sound and lighting systems for Church productions.     

Chuck was recently preceded in death by his father, Charles G. Clark, Sr. and survived by his loving mother, Gerry B. Clark of Louisville; two sisters, Samantha (Britt) Bookout of Louisville, and Courtney (Evan) Buxner of St. Louis, MO; his niece and nephews, Dade Bookout, Hodgson Bookout, Harper Buxner, Bodie Buxner, and Cooper Buxner; and host of cousins and friends. 

Please join Chuck’s family for a visitation and celebration of life, Tuesday, June 4th, from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at the Louisville Winston County Airport, followed by a graveside service and interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Mike Childs with Porter Funeral Home directing all arrangements.

Mary Marlene Cummings

Mary Marlene Cummings, age 81, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jason Bridges and Reverend Brent Manasco officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County.

Marlene was born September 27, 1942, to Robert Inman and Bessie Mae Ivy McCulloch in Choctaw County, Mississippi. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Marlene was a talented seamstress; she enjoyed her cats, but most of all, she loved her great-great-babies!

Marlene is survived by her brother, Robert McCulloch and wife, Earline, of Eupora, Mississippi; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will T. Cummings, and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers Ricky Bridges, Kenny McCulloch, Curtis McCulloch, Jerry Cooksey, Jimmy Adkins, and Garry Dewberry. Honorary pallbearers are her great-great-nephews. Memorials may be given to Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Mathiston, MS.
