Inez “Izzy” Reed Blumenfeld

 Inez “Izzy” Reed Blumenfeld was born in Louisville, Mississippi, on January 19, 1942, to John Tyson “J. T.” and Eddie Mae Roberson Reed. Inez was the fourth of their seven children. Tentatively, graveside services and interment will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Memorial Cemetery in Louisville with Bro. Brandon Frazier officiating.

Inez left this world on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, to enter her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be remembered as one who was always seeking to serve and always thinking of others before herself. She spent and dedicated her life to her two children which took great courage and sacrifice, always showing unwavering love and never complaining. Not only was she a devoted mother, but also grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will forever be missed.

Inez was a member of Bethlehem Church in Starkville, Mississippi, and a member and avid supporter of Christian Friends Foundation from its inception in 1998.

Inez is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Reed; two sisters, Eloise Reed Hudson and Dorothy “Dot” DePriest; and brothers-in-law, Billy DePriest, Kenneth Hudson, and Arthur Halfacre.

 Survivors include her children, Jody, of Louisville, Mississippi; and Reed of Clewiston, Florida; sisters: Mavis Halfacre of Louisville, Joanne (Maxey) Peterson of Louisville, and Gwen (Gary) Cooper, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; brother, Bobby (Sharon) Reed of Louisville; and brother-in-law, Millard DePriest, of Louisville; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Blumenfeld, Caleb Blumenfeld, Jonathan Blumenfeld, David Blumenfeld, and Michael Blumenfeld, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky, and Justin Blumenfeld of Russell Springs, Kentucky; and two great-grandchildren, Alec and Adicus of Russell Springs, Kentucky. In addition, she leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
