Robert Lee “Bob” Combs, III

Robert Lee “Bob” Combs, III, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at his home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mark Mayo officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Murphy Creek Cemetery.

Bob was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on May 14, 1952, to Robert Lee Combs, Jr. and Frances Lewis Combs. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Mississippi State University. In 1974, he moved to Louisville to work at Georgia-Pacific Corporation, where he worked until 1985. For several years, he worked as a consultant in the forestry industry. He loved his farm and all things outdoors. In 1999, he became the owner of Ward Farm Service and through his business, he helped many in the community with their farming needs developing close friendships.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Beverly Jackson Combs; and his children: Beth Combs Stoots and Robert Lee Combs, IV, (Haley Moore) all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Daddy Bob” to his grandchildren: Roper Stoots and Brayleigh Stoots. He is also survived by two sisters: Connie Combs Templeton (Chip) of Starkville, Mississippi; and Phyllis Combs Miller (Stanley) of Knoxville, Tennessee; his niece, Kara Templeton Herman; three nephews: Trey Templeton, Jeremy Miller and Luke Miller; and his brother-in-law, Bruce Jackson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Roper Stoots, J. R. Stoots, Trey Templeton, Austin McDaniel, Casey Smith, and Charlie McCorkle. Honorary pallbearers are Duane Culpepper, Freddy Fulcher, Glenn Hickman, Quentin Hill, Ricky Miller, Bobo Ming, Gene Reed, and Robert Warner.
