Bro. Randall Boatner

Funeral services for Bro. Randall Boatner will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Steve Craft, Rev. Don Savell, Bro. Gary Caudill, Bro. Terrell Jackson, Bro. Scotty Boatner and Bro. Gary Lutrick officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County. Visitation will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Bro. Boatner, 73, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Bro. Randall was a native and longtime resident of Plattsburg Community Of Winston County. He formerly worked as a commercial welder for Yates Construction and Taylor Machine Works. He was saved in 1992 and called to ministry in 1993. Bro. Boatner pastored Way of the Cross “Cowboy Baptist” Church in Plattsburg and did evangelist work all over the United States and abroad. He also had a changed gang recovery ministry at his church. He started riding horses at the age of 6 years and won state championship in 4-H competition. He loved to share his horsemanship skills with children and grandchildren, and also taught children at Vacation Bible School with his horsemanship.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy W. Boatner of Plattsburg; children, Angela Boatner of Philadelphia, Randy Pauley of Philadelphia, Amy Caudill (Gary) of Thomson, GA and Bob Boatner of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jessie Palmer, Jake Boatner, Daniel and Stephen Pauley, Elijah, Caleb, Joseph, Jonathan and Jude Caudill, April Boatner and Aly Winstead; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Colton Boatner, Lucy Palmer, Carter and Khloe Pauley; and sister, Debra Counce.

Bro. Boatner was preceded in death by parents, Kimble Boatner and Marie Blount; brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Clyde Boatner.

Pallbearers, Robert Boatner, Hubo Boatner, Jim Estes, Tim Boatner, Chad Lovern and Jace Lovern.
