Bonnie Ferguson

Bonnie Ferguson, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Edgewood Health & Rehab Nursing Home, Byram, MS. She was born in 1930, and was the wife of Casey H. Ferguson, Jr, both growing up in Winston County, Mississippi. Bonnie was raised in the Bond Community of Winston County, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Effie Rogers Bouchillon of Winston County, MS, and the loving sister of Betty Bouchillon Johnson, Jimmy Gus Bouchillon and Jewell Bouchillon. 

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Ferguson of Jackson, MS, and her son, Walter C. Ferguson and wife, Amy of Starkville, MS, and her beloved and cherished grandchildren, Carew Ferguson (Chandler) of Mandeville, LA and Avery Ferguson of Arlington, VA. She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. 

 She came to Tupelo, MS with Casey in 1955, and served in the community and developed close personal friends and relationships. She was a devoted member of Parkway Baptist Church in Tupelo, MS for over 60 years. She loved music with passion and always played the piano with the joy and happiness all could see. She also enjoyed and embraced her relationships and camaraderie during her time with the Tupelo Chapter of the Eastern Star. 

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 N. Columbus Ave., Louisville, MS with Pastor Stephen Ewing officiating. Graveside service will follow the funeral services at Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 5420 Bond Road, Louisville, MS.

Pallbearers will be Carew Ferguson, Avery Ferguson, Stephen Ewing, Tim Ewing, Wesley Loyd, and Darrin Webb, with the women of her Parkway Baptist Church Sunday School class serving as Honorary Pallbearers. 

Visitation will be 12 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
