Ilene Bane Bridges, 89, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at her residence in Madison, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Billy Bowie officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell Massey Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ilene was born February 1, 1927, to Earnest Roy and Carrie Mills Bane in Winston County. She was member of First Baptist Church of Louisville; and she held a strong belief in God. Ilene worked at Wal-Mart over 10 years as the Department Manager of Domestics. She greatly valued her family and was a wonderful homemaker; she loved to cook, baking cakes, playing the piano, sewing, embroidery, and growing houseplants.
Ms. Bridges is survived by her children: Bettye Bridges Cox and husband, Cary, of Madison, Mississippi; T. F. Bridges, Jr., and wife, Theresa, of Louisville; Donna Bridges Bell and husband, Jim, of Bremen, Georgia; and Gerald Bane Bridges; and by her brother, David Earl Bane, Sr., and wife, Ellouise both of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Mom Bibies” to her six grandchildren and her nine great-grandchildren; two of whom called her “Great Mother”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Farish Bridges, Sr.; her parents; her sister, Betty Jean Graves; and her brother Earnest Lamar Bane.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Earl Bane, Jr, James Lewis Bell, Bradley Farish Bridges, Cary Broadfoot Cox, Jon Randall Spell, David Henry Stewart, Jr. and Matthew Bridges Stewart.
