Betty was born January 25, 1939, to Thomas Edward and Lorena Elizabeth Richards Lee in Neshoba County. She enjoyed working in her flowers and was known for her ability to break a leaf off a plant and be able to root and grow a plant from it. Betty enjoyed cooking; she was known for her teacakes and pies. To her children’s friends, she was known as “Momma J” and she was always willing to cook for them, no matter the time of day or night. She also enjoyed listening to southern gospel music and attending concerts.
