Benny Luke
Benny Luke, 84, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, with his loving family at his side. Visitation will be Monday, April 14 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Lundy officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Harmony Cemetery.
Benny was born March 8, 1941, to James Tillman Luke and Wellie Daniels Luke in Neshoba County, Mississippi. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Benny retired from Taylor Machine Works after more than 30 years of service. He loved to fish and hunt; and he also enjoyed playing dominoes. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Navy.
Benny is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn Goodin Luke; son, Mark Stevenson (Fran); annd daughter-in-law, Cathy Stevenson all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Pawpaw Benny“ to his five grandchildren: LaShara Tingle (Tyson), Quinton Stevenson (Kayla), Ethan Stevenson (Deah), Travis Stevenson, and John Allan Stevenson; his eight great-grandchildren: Cheston Jones (Chynna), Kyle Jones (Kayla), Nikki Stevenson, Nora Stevenson, Lily Stevenson, Eden Stevenson, Lane Tingle and Wyatt Tingle; as well as his great-great-grandchildren: Ryklin Claye Jones, Estee Claire Jones, and he was looking forward to the birth of Millie Mae Evelyn Jones in August. He also leaves behind his siblings: Dorothy Gressett, James Luke, Dwight Sloan, Virgil Luke (Betty), Glenn Luke, and Larry Luke (Maxine); in addition to a host of loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Stevenson; his parents; brother, Cecil Luke; and sister, Martha Carter.
Serving as pallbearers are Cheston Jones, Kyle Jones, Ethan Stevenson, John Allan Stevenson, Quinton Stevenson, and Travis Stevenson. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Hunt and Joel Slawson.
