Roy was born June 18, 1943, to Algie and Pearl Eaves Rogers in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In 1962, he began his career at Taylor Machine Works where he worked as a Master Mechanic, a supervisor and most recently as a Security Officer. He absolutely loved 57 years at Taylor Machine Works and was totally dedicated to the company. He also loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren.
Roy is survived by his wife Judy Sullivan Rogers; his daughter Tammy Rogers; and his son Keith “Mo” Rogers and wife Marsha all of Louisville. He also leaves behind a brother William “Bubbie” Rogers and wife Cathen also of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Gramps” to his five grandchildren: Sydney (Daniel) Boswell, Laken Fulcher, McKenzie Rogers, Logan Fulcher, and Justin Fulcher; as well as his great-granddaughter Sadie Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Clinton and Jerry Rogers; and his sister Minnie Ann Reed.
Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Boswell, Tripp Brown, Justin Fulcher, Wayne Mayo, James “Jimbo” Rogers, and Jeff Rogers.
