Lottie was born March 20, 1942, to Willie and Mary Tutle Culver in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She was a member of Old Path Country Church. She enjoyed cooking her specialties—pinto beans and chicken and dumplings for her husband, J. W., whom she has missed so much. She loved Sundays because that was church day and she loved going to church. Lottie enjoyed having visitors, especially those that would see her sitting on the porch and stop to talk. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Lottie is survived by two daughters Vickie “Teet” McNeer of McCool; and Robin Henson and husband Kevin of Weir, Mississippi; and by three sons: Hank Dempsey and wife Blenda; Scott (Teri Jean) Dempsey all of McCool, Mississippi; and Dennis Dempsey of Attala County. She also leaves behind two sisters Bernice (Bobby) Watkins of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and Pauline Russell of Waterford, Mississippi; and a brother Travis Culver and wife Margaret Faye also of Waterford. One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her 12 grandchildren: Jenny Jackson; Hunter Dempsey; Talishwa Elmore; Brittany Sharhan; Misti Burnham; Jolene Eudy; Emily (Dennis) Whitman; Felicia Hunt; Chastity (Brian) Ladner; Blake Dempsey; Taylor Dempsey; and Madison Dempsey. She also leaves behind 25 great-grandchildren: Kane Jackson; Aliya, Chloe, and Elliona Westbrook; Chavez and Cordez Ellis; Abla and Rania Sharhan; Victoria, Sierra, and Ashlynn Fondren; Brock and Zach Eaves; Heidi and Jessie Eudy; Miguel, Deylia, and Braelyn Hernandez; Cameron Ladner; Shaylee Castillo; Shane, Shay, and Drake Dempsey; and Weston and Bae’lyn Dempsey. She is preceded in death by her husband J. W. Dempsey; her parents; five brothers; and six sisters.
