James Lee Smyth

James Lee Smyth, 56 passed away suddenly on November 20, 2019, from a heart attack in his home in Jackson, MS. 

Lee grew up in Winston County and was a carpenter by trade, a skill he learned from his materal grandfather, James D. Jolley, at a early age. His artwork, drawings, etchings and woodwork were his passion. He drew many beautiful sketches were vibrant with color and art detail. Art was inherited from his paternal grandmother, Catherine Smyth.

Lee is survived by his parents, Don and Carol Turnipseed and Charles and Beverly Smyth; a son, Ryan Lee Smyth; two brothers, Criss Turnipseed and Leslie Smyth; a sister, Dacia Turnipseed; a nephew, Jon Martin Turnipseed; nieces, Marleigh, Keatan Turnipseed and Lily Smyth; along with many cousins, extended family members, and his special friend, Brandi. 

The family wishes to acknowledge the many kind expressions of sympathy and prayers. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends may remember Lee with a memorial to West Union Presbyterian Church, 19005 Highway 15 North, Louisville, MS 39339, where he grew up or a charity of your choice.
