Doug Sullivan

Doug Sullivan, age 70, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 16, 2018, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hill and Rev. Phil Fancher officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery.


Doug was born August 25, 1947, to Vernon and Myrtis Jewell Foley Sullivan. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church; and from September 2016 until the present, he has been serving as the pastor of Mashulaville Baptist Church.

Doug is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosa Sullivan of Louisville; four daughters, Lisa Jewell Sullivan also of Louisville; Hollie Sullivan Queior and husband, Matt, of Southaven, Mississippi; Christy Sullivan Haddock of Port Charlotte, Florida; and Stacey Jahn of Peoria, Illinois; and son, Eric Sullivan and wife, Miranda, of Louisville. Also left to mourn his passing is his sister, Tyan Pace; and two brothers, Jerry Sullivan and wife, Suzette; and Bob Sullivan and wife, Dianne. One of his greatest joys was being “Pa Pa” to his nine grandchildren: Kalee Jewell Hall; Erika Jo Sullivan; William Sullivan; Brittany Haddock; Amanda Haddock; Monique Fields; Rissa Ann; Sarah Mendoza; and Crystal Queior; and one great-grandson, Condell Sterling, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Sherman Lynn Sullivan.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Gookin, James Hall, Justin Livingston, Darrell Reed, Kevin Stanley, Michael Vowell, Danny Whitman, and Dennis Whitman. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Hollis, David McReynolds, Dalton Whitman, and Jerome Wright.
