She graduated from Clarke College in 1962 and from William Carey in 1964. She was married on December 26, 1964 to her high school sweetheart, and worked for many years as his secretary/bookkeeper at United Die Mold in Jackson. She also served at Bethel Baptist Church in Brandon as church secretary and church clerk, where she was a faithful member for many years. However, her greatest accomplishment and highest priority was being a devoted wife and loving mother.
She is survived by her husband Silas W. Miles of Brandon; son Randy K. Miles (Wendy) of Brandon; daughter ReDana Laird (Benjamin) of Meridian; grandchildren Lindsey Miles, Rachel Laird, Sarah Laird, Abigail Laird, Daniel Miles, and Benjamin (BJ) Laird; and two great grandchildren Rilee Rush and Rex Warren. She is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Mayo and Sharon (Virgil) Rodgers, all of Louisville, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Carvol Eaves; and a sister, Charlotte Smith.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5pm-7pm at Ott and Lee in Brandon. Services are 3pm Friday, August 12, 2016 at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville, MS with visitation two hours prior the the services. Bro. Benjamin Laird and Bro. David Keen will officiate the services. Interment will be at Murphy Creek Cemetery in Louisville.
