Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County.

Before her illness, Doris was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was involved in many other church activities. She was also very active in her community.

Doris was a strong Christian woman who wore many hats: wife, Momma, Mawmaw, Aunt Doris and Ms. Doris; she treated everyone the same. She loved her God and her family. She and Victor had five sons in whom she tried to instill the love of Christ and was a great example. It was never questioned in the Hunt household if they were going to church on Sunday and Wednesday, and daily Bible reading was a must. Her joy and her love for Christ were later revealed when one son surrendered to the ministry as a pastor and the other four were ordained as deacons.

In 1974, two of her sons had weddings within six months of each other. Most women would have been frazzled, but not Doris. She took it in stride and helped out in any way that she could.

Since there were no daughters in the family, when her sons married it was a race to have the first girl. After three grandsons born to Jackie and Roger, Kenny won out with the first granddaughter. And, although her granddaughters were special, those grandboys had Mawmaw wrapped around their little fingers! She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Whether she was playing with them, dancing with them or using the fly swatter (usually on the boys), she did it all with love.

Doris is survived by two sons, Roger Hunt and wife, Pat, of Hazlehurst, Mississippi; and David Hunt and wife, Angela, of Weir, Mississippi. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Steve Hunt, John Hunt, Chris Hunt, Shannon Hunt Gregory, Tracy Hunt White, Mandi Hunt Taylor, Kava Hunt, Brian Hunt, Joey Hunt, Shahale Hunt, Alex Hunt, London Hunt, Zach Hunt, and Parker Hunt. Also left to mourn her passing is 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Hunt; her sons, Jackie Hunt, Rev. Kenny Hunt, and Donnie Hunt. Also preceding her were her parents, Oakley and Fannie B. Pearson Burton; and her brother, Charles Richardson Burton, Sr.

Serving as pallbearers will be her nine grandsons: Steve Hunt, John Hunt, Chris Hunt, Kava Hunt, Brian Hunt, Joey Hunt, Alex Hunt, Zach hunt, and Parker Hunt. Memorial contributions in honor of Ms. Doris may be given to Hopewell Baptist Church, McCool, MS.

As you can see on the casket, there are red roses with four white roses in the center. The white roses represent Victor, Jackie, Kenny, and Donnie; all of whom are rejoicing with their wife and mother and Our Lord today.

Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register at www.nowellmasseyfuneralhome.com.
