Peggy Kemp Baker, 71, passed away on July 16, 2016, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Louisville with Dr. Rob Paul and Mr. Mike Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Peggy was born February 5, 1945, to Woodrow Kemp and Joyce Whitehead Kemp. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and she was the owner of Baker Ready Mix for 37 years. Peggy loved gardening and thoroughly enjoyed her beautiful flowers; and she also loved to fish.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Billy Don Baker and wife, Cindy; and Bobby Baker and wife, Tracey, all of Louisville. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Sullivan of Starkville, Mississippi; as well as her sisters-in-law, Peggy McDowell and Glenda Kemp both of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Nanny” to her grandchildren: Brooke Baker Morgan and husband, Dylan; Brock Baker, Christopher Baker, and Cortland Baker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. “Billy” Baker; her parents; and her brothers, Paul W. “Sonny” Kemp and Jimmy R. “Winkey” Kemp.
Serving as pallbearers are J. B. Blanset, Cully Hudspeth, Rudy Johnson, Greg Lee, Buddy Prisock, and Eric Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Baker Ready Mix. Memorials may be given to Good Hope Cemetery Fund, 11766 Highway 490, Louisville, MS 39339.
