Mable Kirk Hickman

Mable Kirk Hickman, 86, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Newlie Long officiating.  Interment will follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.



Mable was born August 22, 1929, in the Boon community to John and Carrie (Caroline) Richards Kirk.  She was a licensed beautician; she enjoyed singing and working on genealogy.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Hickman of Brownsville, Texas, and Linda Rogers and a special son-in-law, Gary Rogers, of Louisville.  She is also survived by three granddaughters, Ashley, Amy, and Allison; and a sister, Ruby Kirk Reed of Jerome, Idaho; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.  Mable was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bob” Hickman, Jr. and an infant son, William R. Hickman III.  She is also preceded in death by her parents; by four brothers, William, Johnnie, Duel and Robert Kirk; and by two sisters, Carrie Mae Kirk and Earlene Karen.
