Mrs. Louise Luke, 85, of Noxapater, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

She was a native of Neshoba County and graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1949. She retired after 33 years of teaching public schools including Mt. Pisgah and Noxapater Attendance Center and every child she taught she loved as her own. She enjoyed quilting and gardening, especially her tomatoes.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James Edward Luke of Noxapater; sons, Jim Luke (Wanda) of Noxapater and John Luke (Tammy) of Jackson; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Dixon, of Butler, AL; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Mrs. Luke was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gladys Dixon; sister, Lynda Dixon; brother, Robert Dixon.
