Jimmy Gale Haggard

Jimmy Gale Haggard, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, Mississippi, with his loving wife by his side. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Toby Halfacre and Rev. Tom Bentley officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

Jimmy Gale was born in Macon, Mississippi, on February 11, 1949, to Metts and Alice Rogers Haggard. He was a member of Noxapater Baptist Church; and he was employed with Winston County District 5 for years.

Mr. Haggard is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Betty Lynn Kelley Haggard; two daughters, Shannon Kharm Kelly and husband, Gary; and Tricy Beth Haggard; and his mother-in-law, Susie Kelley; all of Noxapater. He was “Granny PawPaw” to three grandchildren: Wesley Thomas McAdory; Macy Karoline McAdory; and Gracy Alisabeth McAdory; and to two great-grandchildren: Kate Isabella Drury and Gunner Hayes McAdory, all of Noxapater. Jimmy Gale is also survived by three sisters: Patty Sullivan Jones and husband, D. P. of Mobile, Alabama; Reba DeVeny of Batesville, Mississippi; and Sara Hattie Ballard and husband, Mack, of Grenada, Mississippi; and by three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Haggard and Connie McKinnion and husband, Michael, of Noxapater; and Nancy Peterson Haggard of Clinton, Mississippi; and his brother-in-law, Terry Kelley. Jimmy Gale has eight nieces and nephews: Ricky Haggard, Lisa Horne, Johnna Shay Ballard, Patrick Ballard, Propst Pittman, Danny Dues DeVeny, Tamra Hardy, and Kathy Rahn Sheffield. Mr. Haggard is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Billy Louis Haggard and Roger Metts Haggard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Haggard, Brody Horne, Colton Horne, Adam Kelley, Shane Kelley, and John McKinnion.
