Linda Jean Baxter, of Weir, MS, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Linda was born on October 27, 1945, in Ackerman, MS, to Loran and Immogene (King) McKnight. She was 78 years old. Linda was a devoted housewife and mother.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 13, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. Burial followed at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman, MS. Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. till service time at Coleman Funeral Home.
Linda is survived by her husband, Roy Baxter of Ackerman. MS; 2 sons, Tony (Mary) Higgins of Weir, MS; Jonathon Baxter of Sturgis, MS; 1 brother, Dale McKnight of Weir, MS; 2 grandchildren, Scott Peacock and Timmy Higgins; 3 great-grandchildren, Harley Higgins, Fynleigh Higgins, and Ashlynn Peacock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Melinda Peacock, and 4 brothers, Jackie McKnight, Donnie McKnight, Dennis McKnight, and Jimmy Wayne McKnight.
