Margie was born in Franklin County, Mississippi, on July 17, 1921, to Arthur and Annie May Wilkinson King. She was an accomplished artist; she loved painting primitive art and writing poems. Margie enjoyed baking and she was famous for her caramel cake. She also enjoyed cooking Sunday lunch for her family as long as her health allowed.
Margie is survived by her son, James Kenneth Hedgepeth and wife, Janice, of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Memaw” to her four grandchildren: Leigh Hedgepeth Jones (Jay), Lynn Hedgepeth Tedford (Sonny), James Jason Hedgepeth (Kim), and Leslie Hedgepeth White (Steven Green); her seven great-grandchildren: Chandler Jones, Chloe Jones, Lauren Napier (Jesse), Taylor Hedgepeth, Peyton Hedgepeth, Christian White (Abi), and Hailey White; as well as her four great-great-grandchildren: Hank Napier, Nell Napier, Dierks White, and Laykin White.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Hedgepeth, Jr.; her parents; her brother, Bill; and her sister, Maxie.
