James Lloyd Edwards

Lloyd Edwards, 66, of West Memphis, Arkansas passed peacefully at his home on January 8, 2021. Lloyd was born in Louisville, MS on October 20, 1954 where he lived a wonderful childhood surrounded by loving family and friends. He began his 40 year career in Ackerman with Trinity Industries where he developed his strong work ethic in which he proudly passed on to his children. Lloyd married his wife, Cathy in 1983 and later transferred to West Memphis, AR where they've spent most of their 38 years of marriage and made a good life for their family.

Lloyd made an impact on all those who knew him throughout his lifetime. His passion for life, his spirituality, kindness, humility, charm, sense of humor, laughter, and advice but his love and concern for others outshined them all. He had a true appreciation for family and for life in general. Visiting with family and friends was a top priority for him and he made that known by his actions. He could fix anything that was broken and always gave his best in everything he did. He took pride in his home and never batted an eye to helping with housework and taking care of his yard, or even chores at others' homes.

Lloyd fought incredibly hard for many years for his health, and in the end…he succeeded. His disease did not win the victory, he did! He is no longer suffering and is now at peace in Heaven. Lloyd made a difference in this world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who love him dearly.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Nellie Edwards, sister Carolyn Jones and grandson Cooper Wade. He leaves behind his loving wife Cathy of 38 years, his three daughters Amber Brawley (grandchildren: Nathan and Addison) of Olive Branch, MS. Lacy Wade (Chris – grandchildren: Chloe, Parker, Kylie) of Lilburn, GA. Carrie Davis (Chad – grandchildren: Bryce, Levi) of Germantown, TN. His sister Cherrie Salley (Charles) and brother Charles Walter Edwards.
