Bonnie Jean Coleman

Bonnie Jean Coleman, 92, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 8 at Memorial Cemetery in Louisville with Rev. Tim Hisaw officiating.

Bonnie was born December 4, 1928, to Jessie and Willie Grace Fuller Hisaw. She was a graduate of Ellison Ridge High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville. Bonnie was an excellent seamstress who made beautiful items and did alterations as needed. She retired after working many years at Sunflower. Bonnie enjoyed walking. She was at her best when serving others by running errands for shut ins, taking folks for doctor visits, cooking or simply spoiling her grandchildren. She loved being the neighborhood “mom” for many kids in her large backyard.

Bonnie is survived by her son Billy Coleman and wife Cathy of Columbus, Mississippi, and her sister Naomi Ming of Pearl, Mississippi. One of her greatest joys was being “Mammaw” to her four grandchildren: Tyler (McKinley) Coleman, Anna Claire Coleman, Tifton (Madison) Coleman, and Michael (Amanda) Coleman. She is also survived by a special friend and her angel Vanessa Fisher who so lovingly cared for Bonnie. She is preceded in death by her husband William E. “Bill” Coleman, her parents, and her son David Michael Coleman.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Coleman, Tifton Coleman, Tyler Coleman, Jay Coleman, Jim Ray and Blake Phillips. Memorial contributions in honor of Bonnie may be given to First Baptist Church, Home Bound Meal Program, P. O. Box 547, Louisville, MS 39339.
