Dorothy "Dot" Carter

Dorothy Faye Carter, 88, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021, at her home in Noxapater, Mississippi. A private graveside service and interment will be held on Saturday, January 2 at Camp Ground Cemetery with Bro. Charles Rook officiating.

Dot was born February 10, 1932, to Bill and Lucille Livingston Dewease. She was member of Liberty Baptist Church. Dot enjoyed being outside where she enjoyed fishing, gardening, and working in her flowers. She dearly loved her family; especially her grandchildren. Dot also enjoyed cooking especially when getting her family together.

Dot is survived by four children: Philip Carter, Billy Joe Carter and wife Robin all of Louisville, Dorothy Lynn “Sally” Putman and husband Bobby of Alba, Texas, and Theresa Carter also of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” or “Granny Dot” to her four grandchildren: Will “Stacy” Carter, Michael (Claire) Carter, Sarah (Wesley) Donald, and Jacob (Morgan) Carter. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Cason Donald, Emma Carter, and Whit Donald, and her sister Nannie Maude Reynolds; as well as her nieces, nephews, and friends. Dot was preceded in death by her husband Willie Joe Carter, her parents, her brother Billy “Bud” Dewease, and her sister Nina Duran.

Serving as pallbearers are Philip Carter, Billy Joe Carter, Jacob Carter, and Wesley Donald. Memorials in honor of Dot may be given to Camp Ground Cemetery Fund, c/o Becky Waddell, 3080 Young Crossing Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
