Genell was born May 3, 1929, in Noxapater, Mississippi, in Winston County to Romeo Daniel Bridges and Joyce Farish Bridges. She was a graduate of Noxapater High School and a lifelong member of Union Ridge Baptist Church. Genell was a beloved mother and was devoted to the love and care of her family all of her life. She loved cooking, sewing, and gardening.
Genell is survived by her son Lester Arnell Brown and wife Elena of Columbus and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Lester Ladell Brown; her parents; four sisters and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, P. O. Box 85, Columbus, MS 39703-0085.
