Mr. Reed was born June 19, 1940, in Louisville, MS. He was retired from Georgia Pacific where he worked as a line operator, and he was a member of First Baptist Church. Jimmy loved Mississippi State sports, as well as music and singing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Netttie Elizabeth Smith Reed and Jim Reed; one brother, Hugh Reed; and two sisters, Betty Johns and June Hodge.
He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Lou Barnes Reed of Louisville; three daughters, Kim Reed (Bennie) Lee of Union, MS, Gina Reed (Paul) Mireles of San Antonio, TX, and Beth (Jay) Reed-Richardson of Columbus, GA; three brothers, Buck Reed of Louisville, Jerry Reed of Gulfport, MS, and Ralph Reed of Gulfport, MS; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Austin Mireles, Reed Mireles, Michael Lee, Joey Johns, Chris Richardson, and Ricky Higginbotham.
