Thomas (Tom) Jenkins

Mr. Thomas Jenkins, 92, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at New Haven Baptist Church in Weir with Rev. Jim Ballard and Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Additional visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County.

Mr. Jenkins was born on June 23, 1924, to Edd Augusta and Maudie Nail Jenkins. He was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. Being someone who loved to work and help others, after his retirement as a carpenter from Crowson Construction Company, he kept busy by doing what was called “Widow Women Work”…helping those who needed someone to do repairs.

Thomas is survived by his son, Tommie Jenkins and wife, Nancy; and daughters, J. J. Jenkins and Pam Thomas all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his four granddaughters: Delisa Jenkins; Teresa Eaves and husband, Kyle; Kayla Fulcher and husband, Bruce; and Amber Kugle; as well as his great-grandson, Jack Thomas Kugle. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lola Mae Jenkins; his parents; five brothers, an infant brother, Floyd, Ben, Denton, and Delayon Jenkins; three sisters, Doris Rosamond; Ester Chaney; and Lorene Crowson; and a granddaughter, Leanna Jenkins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Alexander, Eddie Dean, Kyle Eaves, Bruce Fulcher, John Gilbert, and Jimmy Upchurch. Honorary pallbearers are Coot Box, Leon Campbell, Larry Crenshaw, Tommy Crenshaw, C. A. King, Travis King, LaJune Lollar, Maxey Lollar, Smith Rayburn, Carol D. Rosamond, and Burn Simpson.
