Pauline Kirk Ray

Pauline Kirk Ray, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi in the presents of her children. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 15, 2015, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Mt Hebron Methodist Church with Rev. Antoine Stokes officiating.

Mrs. Ray was born May 16, 1942, to Arnold and Lorena Ramey and spent her adolescent life in Kentucky before moving to Chicago, Illinois, at age 13. There she met and married William T. Kirk and had 4 children. They relocated in 1970 to his birthplace of Louisville, Mississippi and opened Montgomery Ward which they operated until his death. Later, Pauline married Charles Ray and established R&R Farms which she continued to manage after his death till 2015. Pauline loved music, dancing and flowers, especially roses.

Pauline is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lysaker and husband Chris of Tampa, FL, Susan Evans of Louisville, MS, and sons James T. Kirk of Louisville, MS, Micheal R. Kirk of Tupelo, MS. Grandchildren Dana Sullivan and husband Danny, Michael Thruett Kirk, Joah Thomas Evans of Louisville, MS, Taylor Kirk Evans of Kosciusko, MS, Wendi Rogers of Maben, MS, and Ashley Nicole Butler and husband Howard of Monticello, MS. One of her greatest joys was being called “grammy” by her grandchildren, step grandchildren, and her 9 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn her passing is her sister, Elveta Peneshi of Auxier, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Avanelle Miller and Catherine Walsh, brother, Claude “Bud” Ramey, and husbands; William T. Kirk and Charles Ray.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Lysaker, Thruett Kirk, Taylor Evans, Joah Evans, Danny Sullivan, and Ricky Tanksley.
