Mrs. Dempsey was born March 14, 1938, in Winston County, MS. She was a homemaker, and a member of Welcome Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Dempsey; her parents, Della Mae and Henry Clay Bane; and a sister, Dan Ella Templeton.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Britt of Louisville, Kay Kirkpatrick of Louisville, and Susan (John) Darby of Noxapater; her son, Michael (Stacey) Dempsey of Philadelphia, MS; a sister, Sarah K. (Johnny) McAdory of Noxapater; a brother, Henry Clay (Margie) Bane, Jr. of Louisville; grandchildren, Steven Ingram, Chris Clark, Matthew Clark, Lamar Hunt, Samantha Perkins, Alicia Dempsey, and Austin Dempsey; and six great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
