Mr. McCool was born November 6, 1945, to George Preston and Ruby Hodge McCool. He was a member of Doty Springs Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 32 years. After working 41 years at Taylor Machine Works, he retired from the Maintenance Department. Keith was very talented and was known as a “jack of all trades” since he could fix most anything. He loved anything to do with the outdoors such as hunting, fishing, and camping but gardening was his passion. He always wanted to be the first in the community to have ripe tomatoes.

There was nothing in this world that Keith loved more than his family. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean Knighton McCool of McCool; and by two daughters, Angela Edwards and husband, Randy, of Louisville; and Rachel McCool of Ackerman. Keith is also survived by three sisters, Ruthie Leonard; Dorothy Cox; and Nancie Bradford and husband, Johnny. Also left to mourn the passing of their “Papaw” are five grandchildren: Dawn Clanton and husband, Bradley; Drew Edwards and wife, Ashley; Maggie Fulce; Nora Fulce and Eli Fulce; as well as two great-grandchildren, Will Clanton and Lydia Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Daisy Algood and Annie Innabnit; and five brothers: Doris, Clifton, Charlie, Robert, and Darl Edward McCool.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Bradford, Bradley Clanton, Drew Edwards, Andrew McCool, Billy McCool, and Dennis Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons of Doty Springs Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
