W. O. “Bully” Pugh

W. O. “Bully” Pugh, 82, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Choctaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ackerman, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 22, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Stacey Parvin officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Interment will immediately follow the service in Betheden Lutheran Church Cemetery. Nowell-Massey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bully was born March 9, 1941, to Jolly Howard and Estell Rives Pugh. He was a member of Betheden Lutheran Church. Bully worked as an electrician until he retired. He loved hunting, especially rabbit hunting; and fishing for brim and crappie.

Bully is survived by two sons, Winfred O. Pugh, Jr. and wife, Beki, of McHenry, Illinois; and John Howard Pugh and wife, Karen, of Philadelphia. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his granddaughter, Christina Horn (Wesley Engram); and his great-grandchildren: Charleigh Horn, Jason Engram, and he was looking forward to the arrival of Sadie Engram any day now! He also leaves behind his brother, Walter Ed (Shelia) Pugh; his sister-in-law, Carol Pugh; and many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Bully was preceded in death by his daughter, Cinnamon Michelle Howard; two grandsons: Jonathan Michael Pugh and Anthony Pugh; his parents; his brothers: Howard, Gerald, John Thomas, and James Pugh; and his sister, Mable Pugh Barron.

Serving as pallbearers are Jason Pugh, Brian Collins, Allen Collins, Dylan Sullivan, and Wesley Engram.
