Hoyle was born in Winston County, Mississippi, on February 1, 1939, to Kirby Higgason and Girvis Whitten Higgason. He is a member of Louisville First Methodist Church. Hoyle began his career at Rogers Furniture Company in Louisville. He retired as a foreman in the Water Department of Louisville Utilities. Later, he worked at Sanders Oil. He was a very organized perfectionist who wanted everything just right. Hoyle was an outdoorsman who enjoyed working in the yard with his wife; working his cows; and he absolutely loved his Massey-Ferguson tractor. He was also an excellent cook; he was known to make a layered birthday cake with homemade icing for each family member’s birthday celebration and for his chicken and dumplings. He answered the call of his country by serving 25 years in the Army National Guard.
Hoyle is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Sara Burnett Higgason; and his daughters: Beverly Graham and husband, Ronnie; and Bridget Morgan and husband, Joe, all of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his grandchildren: Jennifer Graham (Chris) Wylie, Matthew Graham, Meagan Graham, Courtney Morgan, Emily Morgan, and Brandt Morgan; as well as his four great-grandchildren: Josie Kate Graham, Ayla Wylie, Chris Wylie, Jr., and Wyatt Wylie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Doyle Higgason; and his older brother, Reverend Paul Higgason.
