William A. Tucker Sr.

William Albert Tucker, Sr., age 80, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020, at his residence in Neshoba County, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at Vernon Methodist Cemetery in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Becky Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church cemetery. Due to current events, the family requests that visitors follow all precautions that are in place under Executive Order 1466 of Governor Tate Reeves.

William was born June 24, 1939, to James and Ora Sue Kelly Tucker in Winston County, Mississippi. He was a member of Vernon Methodist Church of Louisville. William loved any outside activities including hunting, fishing, and gardening. He answered the call of his country by serving on an air craft carrier in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He also served in the National Guard during Desert Storm.

William is survived by his four children: Calvin McClellan of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Marvin Tucker of Louisville, William A. Tucker, Jr. also of Louisville, and Kelli Sue Tucker of Pennsylvania; and his cousin Laura Sue Roberson. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw” to his four grandchildren: Hunter Worrell (Rusty) Calvert, Brandon Worrell,

Dareld-James “DJ” Tucker Reynolds, and Caleb Owen Tucker and two great-grandchildren Ruby Kate Calvert and Emmy Lou Calvert. He is preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Nell Tucker, his parents, an infant brother Jimmy Harold Tucker, and his brother Bobby James Tucker.

Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Worrell, Joe Lucy, Mark Covington, Randy Fulton, Scott Grabher, and Dennis Duncan.
