Sandra Hemphill Clark

Sandra Hemphill Clark, age 76, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, February 16, 2020, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 18 in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Rook officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will immediately follow the service in Sardis Cemetery.

Sandra was born December 27, 1943, to Willie Burkes and Katherine Elizabeth Hollis Hemphill. She was a member of Crystal Ridge Baptist Church. Anyone who knew Sandra very long came to realize that working in her flowers was her passion. She spent countless hours digging in her yard planting and transplanting flowers...she could get anything to grow! Sandra was one to always have an on-going project in the works. She was also a caregiver; her home was always open to anyone who needed a helping hand whether they were family or someone she knew down on their luck. She understood that life is short and she chose to live each day to the fullest. Another of Sandra’s passions was the Chihuahua puppies she raised; and she was very picky about the family that she allowed to adopt “her” puppies. Most of all, she dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Sandra is survived by four children: Peggy Ward and husband Rod of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Dianne Cunningham and husband Carter; Tommy Clark; and Angela Clark all of Louisville. She was “Grandmother” to 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her grandson Clark Ray; her great-grandson Jacob Ray; her parents; her brother Jody Hemphill; and her sister Melba Manning.

Serving as pallbearers are Rion Blevins, Alex Ward, Coleman Ford, Scotty Cunningham, Jakob Cunningham, Roland Ray, and Aaron Rivera. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Sullivan, Perry Hemphill, Marvin Hemphill, Larry Hemphill, and Cory Long. Memorials in memory of Sandra may be given to Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Glenda Thomas, 215 Thomas Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
