John was born August 24, 1929, to Dee and Willie Virginia Weeks Worrell in French Camp, Mississippi. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. He retired as a truck driver for Camel 66 Trucking Company.
John is survived by his wife Betty Worrell of McCool; two sons Lewis Worrell and wife Maggy of Valley, Alabama; and Carlton Worrell and wife Kim of Mobile, Alabama; and his son-in-law Earnest Tanksley also of McCool. John is also survived by 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dr. Rita Worrell Tanksley; his parents; and three great-grandchildren: Ryan Jackson, Peyton Gary, and Paige Gary.
