Twiler Jean "Polly" Milling

Twiler (Polly) Jean Milling passed away on January 13, 2019 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC. Mrs. Milling was 83 at the time of her passing and had succumbed to long-term health issues.

Mrs. Milling was born August 6, 1935 in the town of Weir in Choctaw County, MS as the oldest of Fred Leroy and Nettie King's three daughters. Upon graduation from Weir High School in 1954 she moved to Jackson, MS. While working at Krystal Burgers on Capital Street Mrs. Milling met her future husband Doyle. They were married in the home of his brother Jack (Carlton Lester) June 25, 1955.

Mrs. Milling also worked for General Electric Company in the latter 1950's before moving with her husband to Presque Isle, Maine while he served in the United States Air Force. In 1960, they returned to Mississippi where she worked various jobs and was a homemaker.

In 2002, she and her husband moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL where they were members of Shalimar United Methodist Church. While visiting family in Columbia, SC during the Christmas holidays she became acutely ill and was hospitalized. In the last few days of her life, Heartstrings Hospice provided comfort and palliative care in Providence Hospital until her death.

Mrs. Milling was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Doyle Milling, parents Fred Leroy King and Nettie Crick King, and great granddaughters Elise Nicolette Jaco and Madison Rylee Sullivan.

She is survived by: Son Billy Dale Milling and wife Kathryn Gallimore Milling(Columbia, SC) and daughter Brenda Milling Talbot and husband Gordon F. Talbot (Shalimar, FL); grandchildren Chloe Schueler Jaco (Columbia, SC), Russell "Beau" Eugene and wife Lisa Judy Sullivan (Ruskin, FL), Meghan Cathleen Davis and husband William Davis (The Woodlands, TX), Matthew Colin Sullivan (Tupelo, MS) and Kirsten Lee Talbot (Shalimar, FL); great-grandchildren Delsin Kurt Jaco and Colette Cheyenne Jaco (Columbia, SC); Caroline Elizabeth Davis, Ava Celeste Davis, Georgia Caroline Davis, and Magnolia "Maggie" Cathleen Davis (The Woodlands, TX), and Parker Elyse Sullivan (Ruskin, F). Polly is also survived by sisters Bennie Ruth Clark and husband Leon Clark (Hernando, MS) and Annie Jo Parish and husband Bobby Parish (Weir, MS). Mrs. Milling is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, great-great nephews and great-great nieces.

Pallbearers: Beau Sullivan, Colin Sullivan, Will Davis, Delsin Jaco, Edwin Clark, and Charles Slaughter.

Honorary Pallbearers: Don Rigdon, Jimmy Crick, David Clark and Keith Yeatman.

The Milling Family wish to thank Providence Hospital and Heartstrings Hospice for their support and services during the past few weeks.

Funeral services will be held January 19, 2019 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS with visitation at 11am and followed by the service at 12pm. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Choctaw County, MS.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Mrs. Milling's name Heartstrings Hospice, Providence Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
