Karen “Sissy” Partridge Matson, age 55, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. David Keen of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 11 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sissy was born in Louisville on September 19, 1962, to Billy and Betty Mitchell Partridge. She was a member of Bel Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport. Sissy was a pre-school teacher for many years and loved teaching her “babies”. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her extended family.
Sissy is survived by her daughter, Bridget Matson Moran and her husband, Jacob, of Gulfport; her son, Richie Matson and wife, Amanda, of Puckett, Mississippi; and her brother, Barry Partridge and wife, Daphne, of Louisville; as well as many nieces and nephews. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her grandson, Deuce Matson; and she was looking forward to the birth of a granddaughter, Makenzie Moran, in July. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Matson; her parents; and her brother, Billy Albert Partridge.
Serving as pallbearers are Bobby McDonald, Brian Partridge, Sean Partridge, Bob Sandberg, Jimmy Starks, and Michael Starks. Memorial contributions honoring Sissy may be given to Winston-Choctaw Gideon Camp, P. O. Box 556, Louisville, MS 39339.
