Jason Eliot Garrard

Jason Eliot Garrard, age 36, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bert Jones and Rev. Dwayne Barrett officiating.  Interment will follow in Vernon Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
Jason was born in West Point, Mississippi, on August 20, 1981, to Treasia Rye Smallwood and Lamar Garrard.  He loved fishing, riding four wheelers, and he loved driving his Peterbilt log truck. He was a volunteer firefighter, Nanih Wayia 49; but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his kids and family, whom he dearly loved.  
Jason is survived by his parents, Treasia Smallwood and husband, Phillip, of Monroe, Georgia; Lamar Garrard; and Roger Garrard and wife, Rosa all of Louisville; his children:  Page, Camden, Kotie, and Jordan Garrard; and his grandmother, Maxine Rye of Caledonia, Mississippi. He is also survived by his siblings: Eric Garrard (Tiffany) and son, Tyler, of Reform, Alabama; Wendy Lundy and husband, Jason; Justin Walden, Carrie Walden, Joe Walden, Janie Butler, and Christina Franklin; his aunt, Patricia Motano of Jasper, Alabama; his uncle, Len Rye (Tammy) of Caledonia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  He also leaves behind a special friend, Patricia Holdiness of Louisville and his friend, Chrissy Winters. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Buddy Rye; and his paternal grandparents, Coy and Edna Garrard.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe Johnson, Will “B. J.” Quinn, Jody Reeves, Justin Rye, Len Rye, Michael Stanley, Danny Sullivan, Joe Walden, and Richard Watson.  Michael Presley will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nowell Massey Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses.
