Emily was born February 28, 1939, in Winston County, MS. She was a graduate of Louisville High School. Emily had a very interesting career, beginning as a cross country truck driver, and then moved back to Louisville to help her parents run the Pastry Shop, a well-known and popular bakery in Louisville. She later moved to New Orleans, where she was the manager of a Western Sizzling Steak House, and when it was near closing, Emily bought the business and ran it as Mrs. Emily’s Steak House for many years. She moved back to Louisville to care for her parents and also worked as an area manager at the Silver Star Casino. Emily loved people, but more than anything else, she loved nature and being outdoors. You might find her driving a tractor on the farm or sitting in her porch swing, enjoying a cup of coffee and the view. She was a member of Whitehall United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Ruth and Lawrence Bradford, a daughter, Genia Lynne Hancock, and a son-in-law, Richard Woodward.

She is survived by her daughter, Ada Woodward of Louisville; a son, Brad Hancock, and his wife, Gina Rose, of West Monroe, LA; two grandchildren, Mitchell (Tabitha) Kuykendall, and Courtney Hancock; and two great grandchildren, Ava and Andrew Kuykendall.
