Clayton Sinclair

Clayton Sinclair, 85, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Davis and Rev. Jonathan Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Church Cemetery.

Mr. Sinclair was born February 15, 1930, to William and Verna Taylor Sinclair. He was a dedicated member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he served many years as a deacon and he thoroughly enjoyed his Sunday School class. Clayton was a passionate gardener; he specialized in growing tomatoes and he loved to fish. He also loved his Taylor Machine Works family with whom he worked 42 years in the Parts and Service Department. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Army in the Artillery Division during the Korean War.

Clayton is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dale Wylie Sinclair of Louisville; two daughters, Pat S. Halfacre and husband, Michael, of Starkville, Mississippi; and Pam Sinclair Lawrence and husband, Keith, of Augusta, Georgia; and his son, Steve Sinclair and wife, Kathy, also of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to seven grandchildren: Caleb Lawrence, Karlee Lawrence, Glori Lawrence, Tyson Halfacre, Preston Halfacre, Stacey George and husband Andrew, and Katie White and husband John; as well as four great-grandchildren: Gracie Lawrence, Katie Clay George, Drew George, and Claire White. Also left to mourn his passing is two sisters, Dot Mitchell and husband, Jack, of Louisville; and Sue Goodson and husband, Jeff, of Henderson, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Terrell, Raymond, Ralph, and Norman Sinclair.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew George, Michael Halfacre, Tyson Halfacre, Caleb Lawrence, Keith Lawrence, and John White. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O.
