Peggy Rose Watson, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leslie “Bo” Mills officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Peggy Rose was born April 13, 1928, to Buster and Myrtle Hamill Peterson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisville and a bookkeeper during her career.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her husband of 66 years, Earl Watson of Louisville; her son, David Watson of Louisville; her daughter, Janet Collins and husband, Ron, of Madison, Mississippi; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Watson, also of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her five grandchildren: Phillip Watson; Laura Watson Kujawa and husband, Kevin; Katie Watson Butts and husband, Will; Maggie Watson Reed and husband, Austin; and Maddie Rose Collins. Left to mourn her passing are three sisters: Celia Frank Mills, and husband, Rev. Leslie “Bo” Mills; Myrtle Virginia Foster; and Mary George Rives. She was preceded in death by her son, Elton Watson; her parents; and her sister, Juanita Burrage.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Butts, Tommy Foster, Kevin Kujawa, Pete Mills, Danny Peterson, Maxey Peterson, Tis Peterson, Austin Reed, and Phillip Watson. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
