Mrs. Betty Burkes Parkes, 62, of Kosciusko, MS, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
She was born and reared in Noxapater, MS but had made her home in Louisville, MS most of her life. Mrs. Parkes was a member of West End Baptist Church in Louisville.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 29th at 10:15 am to service time at noon at McClain Hays Chapel in Philadelphia. Rev. Sandra Lynn Price and Dr. Wayne Hill will be officiating at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County.
Survivors include her daughters, Tonya Burkett of Decatur, GA and Ashley Parkes of Kosciusko; son, William “Bill” Parkes; mother, Mavis Burkes Addkison and sister, Peggy Ingram, all of Louisville; brother, Billy Burkes of Senatobia; grandchildren, Samatha Lynn Reed and Nathan Taylor Reed, both of Kosciusko and her special friend, Alan Beasley.
