Mr. Otha Hartness, Jr., 64, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville. Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Burlon Commer and Rev. Michael Halfacre officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hartness was born September 21, 1945 to Otha R. and Effie Mae Nation Hartness. He was a retired truck driver for Taylor Machine Works and he attended First Apostolic Church of Louisville.
Mr. Hartness is survived by his wife, Reta Dickerson Hartness of Louisville; one daughter, Angela Hartness of Noxapater; two sons, Shannon Hartness, of Noxapater and Shayne Hartness of Meridian; two sisters, Ella Mae Shepperd of Paducah, Kentucky and Elizabeth Reaves of Noxapater; two grandchildren, Chase Jones of Decatur and Dalton Hartness of Louisville. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
