Mrs. Bertha G. Lunceford Aston, 82, died Tuesday, March 30th, at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home in Louisville; followed by visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 2nd, at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City, with interment in Pleasant Hill in Calhoun County. Rev. David Keen will officiate. Mrs. Aston was born January 10, 1928, in Calhoun County. She was the daughter of Willie M. Ward and Reginald Dye. She and her former husband, Perry Lunceford, owned and operated Perry's Department Store in Louisville for many years. She was a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Dan Aston of Louisville; step-daughter, Judy Carol Jones of Benton, Ark.; step-sons, David Lee Aston of Buffalo Grove, IL, Robert Donald Aston of Nashville, TN, and William Dale Aston of Paris, TN; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Brand of Cedar Bluff, MS; 8 step-grandchildren, and 6 step-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
