Mr. Jack Wesley Barnett, 41, of Ackerman, MS passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 4, 2010. Jack was an avid hunter. In high school he lettered in track, basketball, baseball, and football. He was wide receiver #24 for Winston Academy. He is survived by a daughter, Allix Barnett of Louisville, MS; sons, Trip Barnett of Ackerman, MS; and Zayden Spence of Ackerman, MS; a friend Beth Spence of Ackerman, MS; sister, Kim Odom of Jackson, MS; cousin/brother, Carlton Patterson of Lyons, CO; step-sisters, Marie Crawford of Frankfurt, Germany; Carol Bowen of Jackson, MS; step-brothers, Mike Winston of Madison, MS; Thomas Standford of Wichita Falls, TX; aunt, Lynn Crawley of Louisville, MS; uncle, Buddy Patterson of Louisville, MS and grandmother, Ernestine McGregor of Starkville, MS. Visitation for Mr. Barnett will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Starkville. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Starkville. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Children’s Fund at Cadence Bank Starkville or to Bancorpsouth in Louisville.
