Rita Hemphill Hall


Mrs. Rita Hemphill Hall, 63, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at her home in Noxubee County. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 2nd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. David Keen officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hall was born October 29, 1948, in Louisville, MS. She was beautician and a cashier at Piggly Wiggly for many years. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Reed Hemphill.
She is survived by her husband, Donnie Hall of Macon, MS; her father, James Hemphill of Macon. MS; one daughter, Tammy Fulton of Macon, MS; three step-daughters, Donna Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, Sherry Akins of Gordo, AL, and Amanda Price of Louisville, MS; one sister, Marlene Lentz of Hazel Park, MI; one brother, Johnny Hemphill of Louisville, MS; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Palmer, Jerry Hemphill, Jason Hemphill, Danny Marlon, James Johnson, and Marty Ray.

Ronald Eiler Yarbrough

Ronald Eiler "Ron" Yarbrough, 40, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, in Houlka. He was born Oct. 19, 1971. He was employed at Affordable Furniture Co. of Pontotoc.
Services were Wednesday, May 23, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. David Blackwell officiating. Burial was in Pontotoc City Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Yarbrough, daughters, Amber Cox and Lacey Yarbrough, and son, Ryan Yarbrough, all of Houlka; his father, Jim (Charlanne) Yarbrough of Canton; his mother, Cherilyn (Joe) Steadman of Pontotoc; his stepgrandmother, Louise Daniels of Pontotoc; two sisters, Tara (Jimmy) Woodward of Louisville and Ginny Kennedy of Madison; a brother, Jamie Yarbrough of Pontotoc; two stepsisters, Lisa Davis and Rivers Burda; and a stepbrother, Lee Bounds; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Tynna Yarbrough; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Yarbrough, Theron Daniels and Ferrel Daniels.
Pallbearers were Todd Holloway, Randy Holloway, Tucker Holloway, Richard Holladay, Bobby Roye, Brent Foster, Duane Johnson and Charlie Gillespie. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Ball, Jeff Whitten, Ronald Hendrix and Alan Holloway.

Mrs. Bettie Bennett, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Monday, May 21, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.  Born on January 21, 1934, Mrs. Bennett was a member of West Union Presbyterian Church.  She retired from Bennett’s Quik Chek, which she owned with her husband. 
 Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dale C. Bennett; her daughter, Jennie Bennett Hodges and husband, Terry, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and her son, Andy Bennett of Louisville, Mississippi.  She is also survived by two sisters:  Beth Williams McCoy and Janie Strain both of Houston, Texas, as well as her brother, Jack Williams of Bay City, Texas.  Mrs. Bennett has two grandchildren:  Orry Clark Hodges and Matthew Robert Hodges.  She is preceded in death by her son, Clark Bennett; and her parents, Mack Andrew “Red” and Ora Jane Steed Williams.

Mrs. Livingston was born November 12, 1922, in Carthage, Missouri. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Judy was dedicated to her church and family, and her hobbies included gourmet cooking and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Livingston.
She is survived by her son, Kimball (Lourdes) Livingston of San Francisco, CA; a granddaughter, Julia Jet Livingston; and three sisters, Nellie Hewitt of Medford, OR, Bonnie Odell of Meridian, ID, and Maxine Mayclin of Altadena, CA.

Mrs. Evelyn Williamson, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in LouisvilleMississippi.  Visitation will be at Harmony Baptist Church in Louisville,Mississippi, on Sunday, May 20, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Born on May 5, 1932, Mrs. Williamson was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Calhoun School and later she retired from Winston Medical Center after working in both the Food Service and Purchasing Departments. 

Mrs. Williamson is survived by three sisters:  Carolyn Watson and husband, Billy, of Louisville, Mississippi; Brenda Dawkins and husband, Douglas, of Columbus, Mississippi; and Lynette Gossett and husband, Bennie, of Olive Branch, Mississippi;  as well as one brother, Gerald Hatcher of Louisville, Mississippi.  She is also survived by seven nieces:  Pat Blanton, Teresa Ming, Leigh Anne Henry, Christy Wright, Denise Hocutt, Stacey Hall and Kerri Cobb.  Mrs. Williamson also has two nephews:  Danny Hatcher and Dwayne Hatcher and several great-nieces and great-nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvis Williamson; her parents, David Kemp and Vera Mosley Hatcher; and her brother, Delynn Hatcher.

Quinton J. Sullivan

Quinton J. "QJ" Sullivan, 92, passed from this world on Friday, May 11, 2012. He was born in Louisville, Mississippi, on October 12, 1919, to James Edward Sullivan and Minnie Luke Sullivan. He was a hard working man who never wanted to retire. He enjoyed every day during his time with International Harvester. Quinton was also co-owner of Mercury Transportation. When he was not spending his time at Mercury, he would also work as a Gentleman Farmer. QJ proudly served with the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crosby as well as a Mason and a "man of the stock market". Quinton was a loving husband and father, and believed very strongly in taking care of family.
He is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Quinton is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois Sullivan, and his daughter, Sandra and husband, Eric W. Moerbe. He is also survived by grandchildren, Capt. Wesley Alan Moerbe, US Army; Angela Dawn Layne and her husband, Chris; great grandson, Noah Layne, as well as many great friends.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sterling-White Funeral Home. A celebration of Quinton's life will be on Tuesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Crosby, 615 Runneburg Rd. Crosby, TX, 77532 (281) 328-2564. Harold Franklin Palone

Mr. Harold Franklin Palone, 80, died Sunday, May 13, at Choctaw County Hospital in Ackerman, MS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, at 2:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Rob Faulk officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Palone was born April 10th, 1932, in Albuquerque, NM. He was a retired accountant for the Federal Government, a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church in Mathiston, and served in the U.S. Army during The Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy McClear; and his brother, Ray Palone. He is survived by his wife, Emmajean Palone of Ackerman, MS; four daughters, Pat Witten of Greenville, SC, Penelope Anne Palone of Phoenix, AZ, Loretta Peery of Charleston, SC, and Vickie McClear of Louisville, MS; three sons, Frank McClear of Greenville, SC, Rick McClear of Tulsa, OK, and Thomas McClear of Louisville, MS; two step-sons, William Nelson of Louisville, MS, and John Nelson of Canton, OH; one brother, Ed Palone of Seattle, WA; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

James M. Hardy


Mr. James M. Hardy 86, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at his home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 16th, at East Louisville Baptist Church, with Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hardy was born January 8, 1926, in Memphis, TN. He was retired after 31 years as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners; and was very active in fundraising for the Shriners Hospital. He was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church, and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Onie Mae and Otis Hardy; a grandson, Timothy Wayne Coleman, Jr.; and three brothers, Glen, William, and Bev Hardy.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Hardy of Louisville; three daughters, Lynn (Terry) Markham of Gainesville, FL, and Kathleen Oldham, and Lorraine (Tim) Coleman, both of Louisville, MS; two sons, Jeffrey Hardy of Columbia, TN, and David (Louann) Hardy of Virginia Beach, VA; five sisters, Carrie Stringfellow of Pass Christian, MS, Franci Hardy of Gautier, MS, Betty Murray of California, Bennie Sue Werstler of Bay Minette, AL, and Etheleen Werstler of N. Canton, OH; three brothers, Thelbert Hardy of Fernandina Beach, FL, Damon Hardy of Orlando, FL, and Inman Hardy of Louisville, MS; 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
